Looe and Polperro are a short drive and offer many restaurants and pubs here you can also arrange day fishing trips. You will look forward to returning to your holiday home after a day s adventures where you can sit and relax on the sunny patio with a glass of wine or enjoy a BBQ. The property is newly converted and offers TWO bedrooms: 1 super-king-size with TV/DVD and en- suite shower room and WC. 1 king-size which can be unzipped to make twin beds on request also with TV/DVD and en-suite with corner bath separate shower and WC. Lounge: with SkyTV (full package) DVD CD/radio and french doors leading outside. Kitchen/diner: with electric oven and hob dishwasher fridge with small freezer section microwave and many useful extras. Utility room: with WC and washing machine. Outside: doors from the lounge lead to a large enclosed sun-trap patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. Large lawn area ideal for ball games and trampoline available for small children. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen towels electric and central heating included ( 30 per week winter heating surcharge payable to owner on arrival applies 1 September - 30 April). Regret no smoking within the property. Regret no pets. Additional info: 100 security deposit for non-fair wear and tear items to be paid direct to the owner 7 days prior your arrival and returnable post departure subject to inspection. Looe is a small fishing port and village in the South East of Cornwall, divided in two by the River Looe which runs through East Looe and West Looe, which are connected by a bridge across the river. With sandy beaches, a number of interesting shops and restaurants, fishing trips and regular boat rides, there is much to interest the visitor and plenty to keep folk returning year after year.
Although Looe’s primary business today is tourism, there are a still a good number of local fish dealers bringing in daily catches which are renowned for their quality. Looe has also become something of a centre for shark fishing, the Shark Angling Club of Great Britain having its home here. Nevertheless the influence of tourism in the town is obvious, given the amount of accommodation available, along with gift shops, restaurants, ice cream parlours and, of course, bakeries selling Cornish pasties!
East Looe is notable both for its sandy beach and for the fish dealers who operate on the quay along the estuary. There is an unsual pier called the Banjor Pier and it is on this side of the river that the Looe Valley branch line has its terminus station, providing convenient rail access to the area. Across the river is West Looe, which, like East Looe, has a good number of shops and restaurants. The road through here heads off to the popular fishing village of Polperro – an essential visit if you’re in the area.
There are a number of attractions within driving distance, including Woolly monkey sanctuary, Cotehele, Lanhydrock House, and of course Looe is a great place to visit if you want to fish, dive, walk the coastal path or simply relax on the beach.
